Nesting Box

The tree swallows out competed the bluebirds for the nesting box this year. The female builds the nest alone over 2-4 weeks starting in late April or early May, using grass, weeds, moss, and pine needles formed into a cup. She lines it with feathers—often from other birds—added after egg-laying begins for insulation
